PUB'S FUTURE: Shortly after it was closed as a pub, I attended a meeting chaired by Councillor John Fahy to discuss the future of the Tudor Barn.
It was stated at the meeting, to ensure it was not left empty, it would be reopened as quickly as possible as a cafe. There would then be a public consultation.
I noticed in the May issue of SEnine magazine the council has ruled out a public consultation. Why has it chosen to go back on its earlier commitment?

BAD CHOICE: Regarding the planned next phase of development at the former Royal Arsenal site (Riverside Spectacle Is Unveiled, News Shopper, May 21).
I am amazed Greenwich Council should even be considering a development which will include 22-storey tower blocks.
Have no lessons been learned over the past 40 years about the social and practical disasters of these slums in the sky?
