I AM writing in regard to the state of our streets at the present time.
Over the past few months I have witnessed an increase in litter on the streets and find it sad and upsetting people do not have the respect and sense of pride in their environment to keep it clean.
Is it that the streets are not being cleaned enough?
The reason I feel this it is so important is if you live in a clean and tidy environment it completely changes your outlook on life.
It also encourages others to do the same and take pride in their surroundings.
Why are there not heavy fines for people littering?
This seems to be the only way people learn at the moment.
I have two children and it is worrying to think they are growing up in a society of people who do not care about their surroundings.
It is enough to make me want to pack up and leave this country.
