BAD PR: I agree with the criticism of Greenwich Council's spending on publicity (Put Schools Before PR, News Shopper, December 19). Every so often some self-regarding twaddle from the council is delivered to me. I have yet to find anything informative in it. At best it might add up to a meaningless job creation project - the council pays someone to write it, print it and distribute it, and someone else to collect it for recycling. Even recycling has some environmental cost. It's a waste of time and money.

THANK YOU: I wish to thank our MP, Clive Efford, for helping residents of Southend House, which is a community of 50 flats occupied by senior citizens. His advice and support has been invaluable in our discussions with our managing agents, with whom we have several issues.
