How appalling that Age UK are closing three of its centres giving the elderly who use them a month's notice.
No Christmas parties for them then.
My mother uses these centres and they have been a huge support to her as she dealt with the grief of losing my dad. For many elderly people these places are a lifeline.
Guy Stevenson says the borough is not the place it was 30 years ago - what has that got to do with anything? Elderly people will always need somewhere to meet up and form friendships and have human contact which is vital for wellbeing.
Shame on you Age UK. I thought Bexley was proud of its provision for the elderly. Now elderly people are left with a few weeks to say goodbye to good friends formed over many years. Merry Christmas!
