RESIDENTS of Eden Road, Eden Close and elsewhere are not against Scouts and Guides but strongly oppose their unnecessary and disturbing course of action (Plans To Sell Scout Land Are Refused, News Shopper, January 24).
Families and former Scouts and Guides are appalled to know committee members would try to sell land acquired specifically for the activities of children.
Any development on this site, or indeed the proposed backfill to the rear of Woodlands Park, would be disastrous.
The land for sale presently provides parking spaces and any development there would push parking too near to the site entrance.
This would probably increase demand on both sides of the road up to the bend, creating another danger spot.
The issues are too important to be ignored.
