A new care home in Sidcup is asking the community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £300 cash prize.

Ahead of its opening in February, Care UK’s Smyth Lodge in Frognal Avenue is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.

The winner of the ‘local heroes’ competition will receive £300 and will be invited to the opening of Sidcup’s newest care home at its grand launch event in March.

There will also be cash prizes of £200 and £100, to be awarded for second and third place respectively.

Lorraine Eastmead, home manager at Smyth Lodge, said: “We all know that one person who organises everything, is always there for others and never shies away from offering a helping hand – so here at Smyth Lodge we want to say thank you.

“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, or community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes the extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve.”

To nominate your ‘local hero’, visit careuk.com/smyth-lodge/local-heroes before midnight on March 1 and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.

The marketing suite at Smyth Lodge is open to the public Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and anyone that wants to find out more about the care home is invited to visit.
