Spotlight choir was invited by Sainsbury’s Bexleyheath to perform Christmas carols in the store for fundraising and to bring festive cheer.
Spotlight delivers music and drama activities to people with learning difficulties, including those on the autistic spectrum and those with severe and profound difficulties, including those with challenging behaviours.
Spotlight is run by Carole Church, an experienced performing arts teacher in the field of special educational needs.
Their aim is to help members enjoy performance of all types and to develop confidence in communication and social interaction.
Members practice twice a week at Bexley Mencap with a percussion and a choir group.
The choir has previously performed for the Mayor of Bexley and at the Mick Jagger centre in Dartford. Annie Wong, Sainsbury’s community champion, who organised the event, played solo clarinet afterwards on a selection of Christmas carols.
