St Mark’s Church, Bromley is turning blue to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.
An exhibition is being set up from September 28 to 30 to explore ties between St Mark’s and the NHS.
It will feature photographs, artefacts and much more to reflect on its seven decades. Activities for children will also be available.
The exhibition is open Friday 9:30am-8pm, Saturday 9.30am-5.30pm and Sunday 12pm-5.30pm. Professor Adrian Thomas will give a historical talk on Friday evening between 6.45pm and 8pm.
On the Saturday, a celebratory concert will take place at 7pm at the church. It will feature the chart-topping Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir. St Paul’s Cathedral organ scholar James Orford and world-renowned classical bass-baritone Stephan Loges, both with musical links to the church, will also perform.
Organiser Beverley Ejimofo said: “St Mark’s has been at the heart of Bromley for many years and worked closely with the then Bromley Hospital.
“I’m really excited we can celebrate St Marks’s relationship with the NHS on its 70th anniversary.”
Tickets are priced at £10 and are available at stmarksnhs.eventbrite.com or by calling 07725 284105.
