Two south London judoka have been selected for the 2018 Junior (U21) European Judo Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria this September.

Olivia Piechota (-52kg), Acelya Toprak (-57kg) and Wesley Greenidge (+100kg) are part of a nine-strong team selected by British Judo.

Toprak goes in as the current Junior European silver medallist, having reached the final in Maribor, Slovenia last year.

In 2018, the Lewisham judoka from Metro Judo Club has continued to medal on the international stage with gold at the Paks Junior European Cup and silver at the Lignano Junior European Cup.

Her performances at Junior European Cups have seen her retain her place in the top ten at -57kg on the IJF Junior World ranking list.

Piechota has had a consistent year in 2018 with three fifth places at the Kaunas, Gdynia and Paks Junior European Cups.

The Eltham judoka from Harris Judo Club will be fighting in her second Junior European Judo Championships following her debut in 2017.

Piechota will fight on September 13 with Toprak a day later.
