Hundreds of school and college leavers have already signed up for Priority Clearing at the University of Greenwich. They will be at the front of the queue for a university place when A-level results are announced on Thursday 17 August.

Greenwich’s team of specialist Clearing advisers is currently working with non A-level students who have already received their summer examination grades.

Signing up for Priority Clearing online is simple. The process makes sure all potential applicants have their essential details recorded, and that they are ready to take advantage of the Priority Clearing hotline as soon as exam grades are made available.

That phone call will give them a key time advantage in applying for a degree course at one of the university’s three campuses at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Chatham Maritime. They will also receive expert advice on courses, appropriate to their examination results, to meet their career ambitions.

“Clearing is the last chance to apply for a university place this autumn and Priority Clearing gives people a huge head-start during what can be a very stressful time,” says Claire Chalmers, Head of UK Student Recruitment.

“All our Priority Clearing applicants will feel confident that they have the right information to apply. They will have direct access to a trained advisor waiting to support them in finding the right course to match their aspirations.

The Live Chat service at the Let’s Talk tab on the university’s bespoke Clearing webpages are also proving a popular option.

Course seekers taking advantage of the Let’s Talk tab make instant contact with the Greenwich team of trained Clearing advisers. They can type in their general questions about Clearing, specific questions about available courses and even apply for a place.

The Let’s Talk tab is now open 9 am—5pm, Monday—Friday, for everyone who already has their examination results or who has not already applied for a university place within the UCAS deadlines. The hours will be extended when the A-level results are announced on Thursday 17 August.

Gemma Aggett, the university’s UK Student Recruitment Manager, says: “Let’s Talk is extremely popular for people seeking instant advice. It’s ideal for anyone who is feeling stressed or nervous, or who prefers to liaise in text online rather than make a phone call.”

Clearing is ideal for school and college leavers whose results are not what they expected, who have changed their minds about the subjects they want to study at university, or who did not apply by the main UCAS cycle deadlines To find out more about Clearing, and to sign up for University of Greenwich Priority Clearing, go to www.gre.ac.uk/clearing.
