On Saturday 4 March 2017, members of the Forest Hill Society took part in a local litter pick up as part of the Keep Britain Tidy “Great British Spring Clean Weekend”.
In only one and a half hours, they picked up 9 bags worth of rubbish at the Forest Hill station forecourt, the Underpass next to the station, the flower beds outside the Job Centre and the shrubs and bushes next to the Swimming Pools.
They also cleaned and washed the panels of the Underpass. This has now become an annual event in March each year.
