LEGO-inspired Batman installations took to the banks of the Thames

The experience included a Batcave-inspired surveillance system, Gotham skyline and a Batarang.

The structure, designed to resemble Batman’s iconic underground HQ, featured rocky detailing, screens and a gaming hub where fans could test out the latest caped crusader title.

Visitors were invited to take a seat in front of a Batcave-inspired wall of video screens to get early access to the new LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight videogame.

Set against one of the capital’s most recognisable landmarks, the installation drew crowds of fans eager to explore the set-up and try the game ahead of its official release this week.

Among those stopping by on the day were stars of the iconic dance troupe Diversity and self-confessed Batman super fans Ashley and Jordan Banjo, who joined members of the public in putting the game through its paces.

The brothers went head-to-head, posed for photos, and took part in quick-fire gaming challenges.

Jordan Banjo said: “It’s been an awesome experience being among the first to play LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight with some true fans out here at Potters Fields.

“Ashley and I were big Batman fans growing up, not to mention LEGO, so it’s an understatement to say we were excited by this launch.

“He was always Batman and I was Robin – but today I got to play Batman and put Ashley through his paces.”

The experience included a Batcave-inspired wall of video screens and life-size LEGO models.

Fans could play the game under the gaze of life-size Batman and Batgirl models, created using thousands of individual LEGO bricks.

A model of the Gotham skyline recreated the city’s towering buildings in signature brick form.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight follows Bruce Wayne’s journey from trainee to Gotham’s iconic hero, bringing together a line-up of allies – such as Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman and Jim Gordon.

Released on May 22, players will explore an open-world Gotham City, taking on missions, uncovering secrets and battling well-known villains – including The Joker, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.

The story, which spans Batman’s history across film, TV and comics, combines action, exploration and co-op gameplay, allowing players to switch between characters and use unique abilities to progress.
