Jack Whitehall and his dad Michael Whitehall have announced that they will be starring in a Father's Day special on Classic FM.

The radio station is known for playing orchestral music across the country with a number of classical artists old and new aired daily.

The comedy duo will reunite on June 18 for a "hilarious" special broadcast.

The one-off Father's Day programme is to feature music from a number of famous composers including Leopold and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as J.S. Bach.

The Whitehalls will pick their favourites including the theme from E.T The Extra-Terrestrial by John Williams which is Jack Whitehall's favorite as it was a piece of music the comedian remembered fondly from his childhood.

The show will see the Bad Education star open up about becoming a father while Michael will reveal the story behind some of his favouite pieces of music including music he used to play to his son when he was little.

This comes after Michael Whitehall and his wife Hilary Whitehall starred in a popular podcast called The Wittering Whitehalls.

The pair have also announced a three-part Sunday night series exploring some of the most celebrated composers in history in a radio show called Crotchety Composers.

Of the upcoming Whitehall shows, Philip Noyce, Classic FM’s managing editor, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Whitehalls to Classic FM for some very special programmes.

"It will be a really enjoyable listen on Father’s Day, especially as Jack is preparing to become a dad for the first time, as the popular father-and-son duo celebrate the classical music that’s important to them.

“Then Crotchety Composers will be a frank and honest look at the human side to some of the most famous composers with some fascinating insight and a trademark Michael Whitehall opinion or two, as he so often does on The Wittering Whitehalls podcast, combined with Michael and Hilary’s love of classical music; it’s a perfect pairing.”

Jack Whitehall and his father Michael Whitehall will star on Classic FM for a Father's Day special on June 18 from 9 pm.
