Two new Gladiator stars have been revealed on The One Show tonight (May 3), ahead of the iconic series returning.

The energetic gameshow will be airing on the BBC with filming taking place in Sheffield in June this year.

The BBC said: “The much loved Saturday night staple will be back with a brand new generation of superhuman Gladiators who will compete against a brave set of contenders in the ultimate test of speed and strength.”

Who are the two new Gladiator stars?

Presenters of The One Show Lauren Laverne and Jermaine Jenas asked guest and new BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay to reveal the stars of the reboot series.

He introduced Fury and Steel, with the latter hailed as the "UK's fittest man."

Steel said: "We've got some great new games that are coming which we are very excited to perform, we've got some old classic ones as well."

Fury is the first ever deaf Gladiator, whose dad was a contestant in a previous series.

She said: "It's a bit surreal and I'm properly buzzing. If I saw a Gladiator who was deaf I would be star-struck."

Bradley and Barney Walsh have been confirmed as new presenters of Gladiators

Speaking about the announcement, Bradley Walsh said: “Wow! I can’t believe that I’ve been asked to be part of this iconic show.

"I used to sit backstage, or in the audience, every week watching my wife be part of this juggernaut and now I get to co-host a new version of GLADIATORS!!! Saturday night family entertainment at its best...ARE YOU READY ?!“

Barney Walsh added: “Gladiators has been a massive part of our family and it’s an honour to be asked to co-host this iconic show. I’m so excited for everyone to see the spectacle, elite athletes and fantastic family entertainment that is GLADIATORS.”
