The Graham Norton Show on BBC One is being replaced by another show as the broadcaster makes changes to its Friday night programming.

The popular chat show, which airs from 10:40 pm, stars Irish comedian and TV personality Graham Norton who is known for his work on Eurovision.

A range of celebrity guests join the 60-year-old on the talk show with a musical performance from a band or singer in each episode.

However, The Graham Norton Show will be off-air and replaced with The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show from May 12.

Why is The Graham Norton Show being replaced by The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show?

The show is being replaced in the BBC schedule because the Graham Norton Show usually takes a break over the summer months before returning later in the year.

Graham's last show of the series aired at the end of February and was followed up by two compilation shows.

Until now, the late-night slot has been filled with movies but now the Ramsey Show will take its place.

What is The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show?

The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show sees Geordie comedian Chris and his wife host a BBC talk show with the first episode airing in June last year.

The show invites celebrity couples onto the show for light, candid and hilarious interviews.

While the celebrity line-up for the new series has not yet been revealed, the previous one saw Giovanna Fletcher and Martine McCutcheon and her husband Jack McManus take part.

Graham is due to be busy with his presenting duties as Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool ramps up next month.

The Graham Norton Show will be replaced with The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show on May 12.
