Who are the SAS instructors and directors?

SAS has a new chief instructor but fans will know him all too well as the series veteran Mark "Billy" Billingham.

Billy spent 27 years in the military where the reached the highest NCO rank in the SAS as Sergeant Major.

He started his career in the jungle in Belize in 1984 and ended in the jungle in Brunei in 2008.

Meanwhile, Rudy Reyes, who joined the series last year as the chief instructor, is back but he will be taking a step back from the top job this series.

Where is Remi Adeleke and who is Chris Oliver?

40-year-old former Special Forces operator and Royal Marines mountain leader Chris Oliver will be joining the show this year.

Oliver, who served in the special boat service, will replace Remi Adeleke.

Adeleke joined the series last year with Rudy Reyes but won't be back for the 2023 series.

Billy's long-time colleague Jason "Foxy" Fox will also be completing the lineup.

What happens in the first episode of SAS: Who Dares Wins?

The first episode of the new series will push the recruits to their limits as they complete an exercise carried out 50 feet above the ground.

They'll then come face to face with one of the most dangerous infiltration methods used by the SAS - a waterfall abseil
