It's that time of the year again when all the fairy lights come out to pave the way for Santa. Here is your annual rundown of when the Christmas Lights will be switched on and where.

Oxford Street - November 7

This year the shopping hub will be home to 1,778 decorations inspired by falling snowflakes.

2017 marks the fifty-eighth year the road has been decorated for the festive period and the festive switch-on is expected to attract more than one million Christmas-lovers.

Gravesend - November 17

Sleeping Beauty panto star Linda Lusardi will switch on the Christmas lights this year at the newly-refurbished Gravesend Market. There's also the Frost Fair Community Parade and an evening market for residents and visitors.

Bromley - November 19

If you need help making your mind up about which lights switch-on to attend, we can tell you The Fizz (three quarters of the original Bucks Fizz) will be in the land of make believe that is Bromley.

The Christmas celebrations will start at 11am in the Glades with face painting, storytelling and thousands of free giveaways in Christmas envelopes.

Lewisham - December 3

This year, Mayor, Sir Steve Bullock will switch on the lights on Lewisham High Street. There will be drinks and refreshments to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season and there will be an after party at The Ravensbourne Pub.

Orpington - November 16

Start your Christmas countdown in Orpington Town Centre as the annual festive lights pave the way for the reindeer. The high street will be pedestrianised for the day and market stalls will line the pavements. Meet Santa and join in the traditional lantern parade and countdown to the eagerly anticipated firework finale.

Bexleyheath - November 18

It’s time to welcome Father Christmas once more to the Broadway. Not only will the Christmas lights be switched on, it is also that time of the year for the opening of Broadway Shopping Centre’s Christmas Grotto. The family fun will start at 11.00 and the switch on event from 16.00.

Bluewater - November 9

Festive celebrations begin at Bluewater November 9. The annual light switch on event will be hosted by Heart FM. The Big Christmas Switch On will be an evening of indoor festive performances taking place around the mall including, comedy, dance, music and more.

Hayes - November 25

Hayes Christmas Light switch on will take place on November 25 at The New Inn.

Eltham - November 16

Highlights include street performers, a live music stage and vintage film showings inside a cinema van. 

Woolwich - December 2

A free Christmas themed community event including reindeer displays, ice sculpting, puppet shows inside a double decker bus along with puppet making craft sessions, children's fairground rides, face painting and a live music stage in General Gordon Square.

Beckenham Christmas Candlelit Parade - December 2

Father Christmas will be there, helped by his little elves who'll be handing out Christmas gifts along the route from Croydon Road Recreational Park, through Beckenham High Street with lots of singing and fun along the way.
