TWO Lib Dem councillors will be standing down from the council.
Downham councillors Mark Morris and Simon Carter have both accepted jobs which prevent them from continuing their positions at Lewisham Council.
Cllr Morris will be starting a full time job at the Greater London Authority, while Cllr Carter will be moving to Holland.
By-elections for Downham ward are expected to be held next month.
Leader of the Lib Dems in Lewisham Cllr Chris Maines has praised the councillors.
He said: “Both Mark and Simon have worked hard on behalf Downham residents and should be proud of their achievements.
“We hope that residents will elect Liberal Democrats councillors to continue this work."
