A Mini Cooper 'narrowly missed' police officers following a knife fight in Woolwich in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called at 4.20am to the Earl of Chatham in General Gordon Square following reports of a brawl involving men armed with knives.
A pair who police said were seen with knives jumped into a black Mini Cooper and crashed into an electrical box before trying to drive away.
As police officers arrived on the scene, a Met Police spokesman said the Mini was driven at them and only narrowly missed before its occupants tried to get away.
Police said the car was found following a search in Conduit Road. The driver was allegedly found in possession with what is believed to be drugs stuffed into his pants.
The vehicle was searched and four knives were found
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of offensive weapons, affray and dangerous driving.
The passenger was not found.
