Acclaimed chef Raymond Blanc has written the foreword to a Greenwich school’s cook book.

Headteacher Tim Baker and chef Flavio Hernandez of Charlton Manor Primary School in Indus Road co-wrote the book called ‘The School Chef.’

Mr Blanc has been involved with the school before because of their program of healthy lunches.

The book includes 22 recipes for wraps, soups, cheese whirls, orange cake and super seedy flapjacks, all of which are popular with students.

Mr Hernandez said: “The cook book is made for families and it’s a good way for families to get together, cook together and have a great time.

“The recipes are not very complicated and are quite easy to make, it also explains how to make your own tomato sauce and stock.”

Headteacher Tim Baker said: “We are very pleased with the result, it’s a wonderful book full of recipes and ideas on how to cook good healthy food together at home.”

‘The School Chef’ costs £15. Anybody who would like to buy a copy of the book should email: acoulstock@charltonmanor.greenwich.sch.uk.
