A man and woman have each been stabbed in the face with a broken bottle in Plumstead this morning.
Police were called at 6.50am to Waverley Road following reports of a fight.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended and treated the victims, whose injuries were not said to be life-threatening.
Police say two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH.
Witnesses said the road had been cordoned off and about eight police cars had arrived on the scene.
A Met Police spokesman said a man and a woman had been stabbed in the face with a broken bottle.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today at 6:53am to reports of a stabbing on Waverley Road, SE18.
“We sent an incident response officer and two ambulance crews to the scene.
“We treated two patients and took them to a hospital in south east London.”
The police cordon had been cleared by 11.30am.
