Plans have emerged for a new discount superstore along with new homes at a warehouse site in Footscray.
Supermarket giants Lidl have revealed plans to demolish their existing store and an adjourning warehouse and build a new store in Footscray High Street.
The warehouse was formerly occupied by, but has since been acquired by Lidl who now plan to knock it down.
As well as a redeveloped store, Lidl want to build five town houses with seven car parking spaces.
The new store would have 102 parking spaces, and all the houses would be three bedrooms.
Lidl say the development would bring 40 new jobs for Footscray residents.
Lidl recently opened a new store in Welling, and opened a large superstore in Bexleyheath in June.
A consultation event on the plans will be held on Monday, January 15 at Footscray Baptist Church in Sidcup Hill.
