A Bromley weightlifter has been selected to represent Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics as part of a four-strong women’s squad.
Emily Muskett, 31, is a former pupil at Langley Park Girls School and previous member of Blackheath & Bromley Harriers Athletics Club.
She will compete in the Japanese capital on Sunday, August 1, in the 76kg category, cheered on from home by her husband Joe, dad Rob, three sisters and extended family.

She earned a late call-up following a reallocation of continental quota places by the International Weightlifting Federation due to doping sanctions.
Emily, whose maiden name is Muskett, became the first British weightlifter in 26 years to win a European crown in Moscow in April.
Coached in Crystal Palace by trainer Keith Morgan, Emily has competed in three world championships, including at the 2015 World Weightlifting Championship.
She will be joined by sprinters Adam Gemili and Dina Asher-Smith, who also cut their teeth at Blackheath and Bromley Harriers AC.
Tokyo is bracing for an opening ceremony like no other at the Olympic Stadium on Friday night.
The traditional lighting of the torch will take place in front of empty stands as the city buckles down in its battle against rising coronavirus rates.
The athletes’ parade will still take place but its impact will be curtailed, with the biggest nations sending significantly reduced delegations to march round the stadium.
