UPDATE: Surrey Police have issued a statement which said: “We are pleased to announce that the 60-year-old woman who went missing from Oxted before Christmas has just been found safe and well in the Crystal Palace area.”

An appeal has been launched to find a 60-year-old Surrey woman who went missing before Christmas and could be in Crystal Palace.

The last confirmed sighting of Venetia Harris, from Oxted, was in the week before December 25 and police are concerned - they say it is out of character for her to be away for such a long period of time.

Venetia is described as white, five foot six inches tall, slim, with long greying auburn hair. When she was last seen she was wearing black leather boots, a black skirt, white top, black cardigan and black leather jacket. She was carrying a holdall and a plastic bag, which may have had other clothes in it.

As well as Oxted, she has links to the Crystal Palace and has previously spent time in Eastbourne in Sussex. She travels by train and bus.

Surrey Police said despite extensive enquiries, officers have been unable to trace her.

As well as anyone who might have information about where Venetia is now, Police also want to speak to friends or relatives who may help them understand where she may be.

There said there was an unconfirmed sighting of Venetia in Oxted on Boxing Day and if she was visiting someone they would like to hear from them.
