UK fight fans will have the chance to see knock out specialist Jimi Manuwa perform live at UFC London in March.

Manuwa, who used to train out of Keddles Gym in Orpington before making his name professionally in the US, will rematch Poland's Jan Blachowicz on March 17 at the O2 arena.

The 37-year-old Croydon born martial artist defeated Blachowicz in 2015 via unanimous decision.

In a previous interview with News Shopper - Manuwa reflected fondly about his days in Orpington.

He said: “It’s a striking gym, probably the best striking gym around.

“It was a great place to learn.”

Speaking about his upcoming fight in London, he said: “It’s always a great feeling performing in front of my London crowd. Last year was a great night at The O2 with a great knockout and that’s what’s going down again on March 17th.

“The London fans can expect another knockout. Blachowicz is in trouble.

“He won’t make it to the last bell. He’s the only fighter I’ve gone to a decision with in my career and I aim to rectify that on March 17th. I will knock him out.

“I respect him as he is willing to fight anyone and he’s definitely improved since we last met, but I’ve got significantly better and we will see this in the Octagon. I’ll be patient and strike when he makes mistakes.”

Tickets for the MMA show go on general sale on Friday, February 2.

Manuwa has a professional record of 17 wins and three losses.
