Improvement works which had been taking place on Beckenham High Street have temporarily stopped to allow businesses and shoppers better access during the Christmas period.
The £4.4 million scheme which includes the relaying of roads and pedestrian crossings and the improvement of lights, is being funded by Bromley council in partnership with Transport for London.
The works will begin again in the new year and are expected to be finished in August 2018.
Although the high street has been reopened, Thames Water is doing some emergency works in the area and there are three-way temporary traffic lights at the junction with Fairfield Road.
The emergency works are expected to finish by early next week.
