The reopening of the Market Square in Bromley has been delayed because of a water leak.

The square was closed on Monday, October 30, because of a collapsed sewer.

Now Thames Water have found a water leak at the same location.

They are carrying out emergency repair work which may last for another 10 days or more.

In order for the repair to be completed, the road is closed to through traffic at the junction with East Street and Widmore Road, outside Café Rouge, Tui Thomson Holiday Store and Foxtons Estate Agents.

Whilst Market Square is closed, traffic is being diverted via Tweedy Road A21 and London Road in both directions.

Access to the Sainsburys store will be maintained via East Street only.

The bus lane on London Lane and Beckenham Lane will be suspended to allow access at all times to the northern section of the High Street, to the High Street, Market Square and Church Road.

Buses will not use the northern section of the High Street, Market Square, Widmore Road (between the junctions of Kentish Way A21 and Market Square), East Street, West Street or College Road (between the junctions of West Street and Tweedy Road A21).

The buses will be diverted along the main diversion route of Tweedy Road A21 where they will then continue with their usual line of route.
