BEXLEY councillors who are also Freemasons, have to register the fact in their public declaration of interests.
The information came in response to a question from Bexley resident John Watson to Bexley Council leader, Councillor Teresa O’Neill at last week’s council meeting.
But she confirmed council officers are not required to reveal whether of not they are Freemasons.
Cllr O’Neill said: I don’t think membership is widespread or has any impact on decisions.”
All of the councillors’ declarations of interest are available to view on request by the public, at Bexley’s civic offices in Bexleyheath Broadway.
