A CYCLING trio are to ride 900 miles in seven days to raise money for servicemen and women wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Tom Church, Lee Woodyard and David Clark will be travelling from Land’s End to John O’Groats having been inspired by the bravery and sacrifices made by British troops overseas.

The three men from Dartford, Wilmington and Bexley respectively, have been training hard ahead of their May 28 departure date, doing 20 miles a day and covering 200 miles at weekend.

They hope to raise £5,000 for charity Help for Heroes.

Investment analyst Mr Woodyard, 23, said: “Training has taken over our lives at the moment.

“It is our way of giving something back to the heroes that make day-to-day sacrifices for Queen and Country.

“But it’s a personal achievement as well.”
