New statistics released by the Met Police show the burglary hotspots in Bexley.

As News Shopper already reported, Bexley has had the greatest rise in residential burglaries around Christmas in south London.

Data collected compared the percentage increases of home burglaries committed between November and January to the rest of the year in the capital.

While Bexley is ranked in the top three in London for percentage increase in residential burglaries, the borough is still second lowest overall for burglary rate, recording four burglaries per 10,000 residents.

Borough commander Stuart Bell told councillors at a meeting earlier this year that burglaries in Bexley are up 15 per cent on last year, although this figure is still a decrease on five years ago.

The following figures are based on crimes reported in October this year, showing the areas in Bexley that have been worse hit by residential burglaries.
