Strangers chased down an alleged robber who had stolen an elderly woman's handbag in Belvedere.
Police were called to Nuxley Road last night (November 30) were they found the suspect being detained by strangers who had witnessed the robbery.
A spokesman for Bexley police said: "We would like to thank the local community for their assistance in helping detain this suspect and for showing great community spirit."
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to a south London police station.
