A 47-YEAR-old man was hit on the head with a metal object during a robbery in Hartley yesterday (September 26).
Police were called to Church Road at 8.10am after the man was challenged from behind as he left his house.
As a result of the attack, the man suffered a large cut to the back of his head.
The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years-old, with olive-coloured skin and dark hair and eyes.
He is around 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build and with a south-eastern accent.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing a three-quarter length light beige camouflage jacket with the hood up, along with similar coloured trousers and beige boots.
He is also reported to have had a white scarf tied around the bottom half of his face.
Church Road was closed for nearly two hours following the incident – it re-opened in both directions at 10.35am.
