SOMETHING strange has landed in Greenwich.

Despite appearances, this isn't an alien spacecraft but a new sculpture for Greenwich's Peninsula Square.

Called Kreod, it is the brainchild of Chun Qing Li, managing director of Pavilion Architecture, and is meant to resemble three seeds.

Along with looking impressive, the three 20 square metre pods also form an exhibition space.

It is constructed from kebony, an alternative kind of timber billed as environmentally friendly.

Mr Li said: "Kreod pavilion is a great showcase of a sustainable and forward thinking building method in the digital age, offering a new way of thinking, designing, engineering, and construction."

The pods are on show until October 14 before visiting other parts of London.
