Spring half term is on the horizon and thinking up ideas to keep the little ones occupied can sometimes prove tricky but one zoo thinks its entertainment will be flaming brilliant.

Drusillas Park in East Sussex has opened a new events arena and on June 5, the hero next door will be swinging by to excite audiences with Fireman Sam’s Pontypandy Welcome Show.

The show promises to be jam-packed with opportunities for audience participation as well as the chance to meet Fireman Sam himself at various intervals throughout the day.

No trip to the zoo would be complete without checking out the animals and there are a few new arrivals to visit while you’re there. Coo over baby Adaeze, a black and white colobus monkey, Tambo a Sulawesi black crested macaque as well as five brand new humboldt penguin chicks.

Youngsters can tire themselves out on the multi-levelled adventure play area Go Wild! or for the younger visitor, Go Bananas! – a haven for children under the age of six.

And if they aren’t pooped after all of that, you can also get lost in Eden’s Eye, an interactive maze which takes you on an adventure style quest, and take a trip on the Thomas & Friends train which runs daily.

Located just off the A27 in Alfriston in East Sussex, Drusillas Park is open from 10am until 6pm with last admissions at 5pm. For further details, phone 01323 874100 or visit drusillas.co.uk.
