MUSICAL star Lee Mead met young performers as he opened a new dance and drama facility in Bromley Common.

The reality tv star, who won the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in the BBC’s Any Dream Will Do in 2007, visited the new studios in Chantry Lane.

Chantry Studios will offer dance and drama classes with West End performers as well as children’s fitness, yoga and pilates.

Mr Mead said: “It’s a really nice place for them to come and have fun and interact. I was surprised by how nice the premises were. When I first started it was all in dusty old church halls so the kids who come here are very lucky.”

Owner Janette Yates-Smith said: “We wanted to make something for the community here. We’ve lived in the area for 30 years and we want to find out what people want and try and provide it.”
