A BEXLEYHEATH patient group has been praised for its achievements by MP David Evennett.

More than 50 people attended the first Bexley Patient Participation Group (PPG) awards.

The award for outstanding PPG went to Crook Log Surgery, in Clarence Road.

Its members were praised for their dedication to patient involvement as well as the inventive engagement schemes such as patient-led keep fit classes.

Group secretary, Iris Williams, said: "It is lovely for the group’s hard work to be recognised, and we could not have done it without the fantastic support from the surgery staff and other patients.

"We look forward to continuing our work, involving patients in their local GP practice."

Presenting the award, Mr Evennett, said: "I welcome the increase in the number of PPGs in Bexley. They are a great success and I look forward to them helping shape the future of healthcare in Bexley."
