A DOCTOR has appeared in court accused of indecently assaulting a young patient.
It is alleged Dr Navin Naran Zala behaved improperly towards a girl in four clinical consultations between 1988 and 1991.
At a brief hearing at Dartford Magistrates' Court on Monday (April 2), Zala, of Marling Way, Gravesend spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
The 62-year-old grandfather, who has since retired from medicine, is charged with three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14 and one of indecent assault on a girl under 16.
He was granted bail to return to Dartford Magistrates' Court for committal on May 28.
