A BAND which was formed 50 years ago is set to hold an anniversary dance.
Mike Inkster, Derek Taylor, Phil Hearn and Derek Coverley formed their band, Scimitars, in the 1960s.
They were one of the area’s most popular groups and performed in Bexleyheath, Dartford, Crayford, Welling, Sidcup and Falconwood.
Scimitars will perform on May 26 at Crockenhill Village Hall, in Stones Cross Road, Crockenhill, to mark their 50th anniversary.
They will play a collection of 60s covers including songs by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry.
Tickets cost £10 and you can take your own picnic and drinks.
