A NEW initiative to raise awareness and increase disabled people’s access to golf has been launched.
Chelsfield Lakes Golf Centre presented the Marjorie McClure School in Chislehurst with £2,000 to buy specialist equipment for the children.
The centre is also hosting a festival of golf in March when four disabled golfers will be awarded scholarships.
Ulvi Kasimov, chairman of UK Northeast Investments Ltd, the company which bought the centre earlier this year, said: "I am extremly happy that Chelsfield Lakes is creating these links with the local community and I was genuinely touched seeing the joy that playing golf brought to the children.
“We will continue to build these links and I look forward to seeing the childrens' progress on my next visit to Chelsfield Lakes.”
