BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked at Greenwich train station.
The incident took place on December 13 and it is believed that a heated argument took place between a male suspect and a woman which resulted in him grabbing her around the neck and threatening her.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Andy Parkinson said: “I’m appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and I’m particularly interested in speaking with a man and woman who intervened and helped to stop the incident from escalating.
“If you have any information, we’d like to hear from you. We treat these types of offences very seriously and your information could help this investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting incident B3/LSA of 9/01/2012 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A 30-year-old man from Greenwich has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently on bail due to return at a later date.
