More than 4,000 affected in temporary power cut
A FAULT in an underground cable left more than 4,000 families in Gravesend without power for a brief period last night.
The electricity supply was interrupted for 4,443 homes in the Goodwood Crescent area at 9.10pm.
UK Power Networks engineers began restoring power within minutes and reconnected all but 100 houses in stages in just over an hour, by 10.21pm.
Power was rerouted to the last 100 between 10.58pm and 11.27pm.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “We appreciate how difficult it is being without electricity and would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.”
