A WOMAN is holding a special night, raising money to fight the disease that killed her uncle.
Nicola Evans is hosting the Cancer Research UK fundraiser at the Anchor and Hope pub, Riverside Walk, in Charlton on January 20.
The 35-year-old, who was born in Charlton but now lives in Eastbourne, says she wanted the event to be in memory of her uncle Geoff Evans.
He tragically died in January 2010 after fighting testicular, stomach and lung cancer.
Kicking off at 8pm, the event will feature an auction, live music, a raffle and buffet. Entry is free.
She said: “We’re really trying to get as many local businesses involved as possible.”
