ATHLETES from across the country will gather in Dartford for the UK’s first overnight iron distance triathlon.
The Midnight Wo/Man race will take place on August 18 from 6pm at The Bridge development, in Marsh Street.
It will include a 2.4 mile swim in The Bridge’s South Lake, a 112 mile cycle and a 26.2 mile marathon run, all of which are to be completed in less than 17 hours.
The Bridge is a 264 acre mixed use scheme which is being developed as a joint venture by Dartford Council and Prologis.
Leader of the council, Councillor Jeremy Kite, said: “Triathlon is one of the country’s fastest growing sports and we are delighted Dartford is becoming such an attractive triathlon venue.
"The new Midnight Wo/Man race is an innovative idea and I am sure it will be a great success.”
