LEWISHAM Council is consulting on plans for parts of a Super Sewer project to be built in Deptford.

Both Deptford’s Crossfields and the Earl Pumping Station in Yeoman Street are earmarked as preferred sites for part of the work, currently being consulted on by Thames Water.

The council will be sending its own response to the company and is encouraging people who live or work in the affected areas to make their voices heard.

A public meeting will be held on December 7 at 7pm at the 2000 Centre, Grove Street, focusing on Earl Pumping Station.

A further one on December 13 at 7pm in the Salvation Army Hall, Mary Ann Gardens, will mainly deal with Crossfields.

More than 800 people have signed a petition against the plans.
