A 40-YEAR-OLD man has been warned he faces jail for possessing and making indecent photos of children.

John Williams, of Darnley Street, Gravesend, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying an act which threatened life, four counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and five counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.

Today (October 19) Dartford Magistrates' Court heard that Williams took his mobile phone into a store to be repaired.

Staff found the pictures on his phone and alerted police who then arrested Williams.

Magistrate Timothy Lewry said: "The offence is so serious custody is the only option available. We are not ruling out sending it to crown court."

Williams will next appear at Dartford Magistrates Court on November 8 when he will find out if he is to be sentenced by magistrates or if it will be referred to crown court.
