AN early morning police raid in New Cross has led to six people, including a 15-year-old boy, being arrested over drug offences.

New Cross Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out the raid at 8.15am on October 13 in Beech Close.

Police say one suspect attempted to throw cannabis and cash from an upstairs window.

A search of the property uncovered correspondence linking the occupants to another address in Watergate Street.

There they found approximately 196 cannabis plants in a bathroom.

Those arrested include a 15-year-old boy who was arrested for possession with intent to supply and a 37-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

Four men in their late 20s were arrested for cannabis production and immigration offences at Watergate Street.

All have been bailed until January.

Police Sergeant Mark Alger said: ā€œIā€™m very proud that my officers have been able to make a significant dent in organised drug crime offences within New Cross by taking 196 cannabis plants and a large quantity of cash off the streets.ā€
