NEIGHBOURS have told of their shock after two teenagers were stabbed outside their homes in Abbey Wood.

Police were called at 8.50pm on October 15 to Rochdale Road where officers found a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

They were taken to hospital but their injuries were not life threatening.

Officers believe the stabbing might have happened close to the junction with McLeod Road.

Lorraine Kiddle, 60, lives on the junction and saw officers outside her house attend to one of the stab victims.

The mother-of-three said: “There were vans and police everywhere.

“Officers had one of the boys bent head first over the wall with a pad on his back.

“We didn’t know what was going on- the police taped the road and the church hall off.

“The police were here right through the night and didn’t leave until around 10am the next morning.

“There weren’t a lot of people around but we heard there’d been a party up the road in the church hall.

“There used to be a lot of trouble around here- kids used to hang out in the park and there were drug problems.

“I feel scared for my daughter.

“You could say you would move but where would you move to?”

Audrey Sells of McLeod Road says she saw lots of flashing lights outside her window at the time of the incident.

The 67-year-old said: “Police were running up and down the street.

“There were lots of sirens going.

“It’s a bit worrying.

“My brother-in-law was there that night but usually I’m on my own here with my dog.

“It makes you wary, and you lock the doors early.”

Detectives from the Violent and Organised Crime Unit are currently investigating.

Detective Constable Jeff Spalding said: "This was a serious incident. We know that there was a party in McLeod Road and someone may have witnessed what happened. Anyone with information should come forward".

Anyone with information should call 0208 284 7760 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
