A SPECIAL needs school has celebrated its first harvest festival.
Baston House School in Bromley, which specialises in caring for pupils with autism, celebrated with a joint primary and secondary school assembly.
Parents attended the service, where Reverend David Graham of St. Mary’s Church, Hayes, taught the children about harvest and the importance of giving.
The children spent the week making decorations and preparing food boxes. Some students also read poetry at the assembly.
Sally Pettitt, 38, chairperson of friends of Baston House School, said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very good for students and their parents to see how much the kids have come along since being here.”
The school collected six large boxes of food which were taken to Prince George Duke of Kent Court Nursing Home, in Chislehurst.
“They were very surprised at how much we managed to collect.” added Mrs Pettitt.
