PARENTS with buggies will descend on an animal centre next week in a protest over its potential closure.
Protestors will gather around the animal enclosure in Charlton's Maryon Wilson Park to form a "protective wall of buggies", organisers say.
Those taking part will meet at the duck pond at around 12pm on October 12 with the protest set to last one hour.
Planned cuts by Greenwich Council could see the centre closed next April unless an alternative is found.
A petition organised as part of the STAMP (Save The Animals of Maryon Wilson Park) campaign against the closure has attracted more than 7,500 signatures online and on paper so far.
It is due to be presented to the council by the Friends of Maryon and Maryon Wilson Parks on October 26.
