A TOURISM chief has been suspended after he made negative remarks about Woolwich on the Twitter website.
Last month News Shopper reported how head of Greenwich tourism Neil McCollum used the social media site to write: "Guest appearance in Woolwich today.
"Wonder if it has changed. Mental note, make sure wallet is not visible.”
In a letter to News Shopper this week, the Greenwich Council’s Deputy Leader Councillor Peter Brooks has confirmed action has been taken against a member of staff.
He wrote: "Greenwich Council greatly regrets any offence caused by negative comments about Woolwich that appeared on Twitter.
"A member of staff has been suspended while the matter is investigated."
